Comment:

When I was going through my as-yet-unpacked (since August) boxes of CDRs last week, I remembered/discovered (?) that I had all of Bjork's records CDR'ed from various folks. I pulled them out for a listen and immediately determined that she was ripe for the single-artist treatment, despite the fact that I've never (to my recollection, anyway) used one of her solo songs on a mixed-genre mix. That said, her albums are all pretty damned good, and Debut, in particular, is pretty classic. Last tracks cut: "Bachelorette," "Headphones," "One Day," "Big Time Sensuality," "The Modern Things" (from which the mix title is pulled--I cheated this time), "Army of Me," "Unison," and "I've Seen It All."

sorry mate - you're not exactly on your own with this given her massive status worldwide, but she gets on my tits! I'm sure it is a good selection, however - and you're right her debut album is the best.

I agree, Rob debut is a classic. Also love Hunter, Hidden Place and Oceania on this max. Damn fine.

Very nice tribute to one of my favorites. Though, a number of my personal choices not shown here: Unravel, All Is Full of Love, Unison, I've Seen It All, Army of Me, Possibly Maybe, Aurora and Where is the Line would make for an equally amazing single artist best-of...(live tracks not withstanding).

She does what on your tits, Gobi? =p

Interesting picks. I need to start getting into Bjork properly, and this might be a good place to start. Thanks!

Can't stand her, but I'm sure you make her as tolerable as humanly possible with your talented mixing.

Someone once downloaded a jazz album from Bjork.
Can't remember the title now but I used to listen to it constantly. The mix looks choice!!!

Never got into her solo work, though I still have fond memories of the first Sugarcubes album (before they got too polished and that annoying barking guy started getting too much vocal time).

How the hell did I miss this? It's Bj÷rk for Thor's sake, therefore, I am unable to be objective. I love it. Have you "blended" the tracks with dream-like nuance? It matters not. I am smitten by the very idea of the mix. Never had the bottle to attempt it myself. And as you and the Icelandic elven one may say to me: "It's not up to you." may have to steal your mix and deny all knowledge.

I adore Bjork and am glad to see we share the same favorite album of hers. Although I'm sad to see that "Alarm Call" isn't here.
