Comment:

The first volume of the double cd set. I was watching a documentary called 'The Temples Of Rock' over the weekend. One of the temples was the legendary Fillmore East. So that got me thinking (hey, why not make a mix of with all of the bands and artists that have played there). What a great place to see a show at. I wish I could have lived in the sixties and seventies to truly experience it. Anyways enjoy! P.S. All of these tracks are not live btw.

Nice one. Saw that Temples of Rock show this weekend also and especially liked the segment on the light shows. Made it to a few shows at the Fillmore East back in the day but only very recently got to check out the Fillmore West.

Some really great stuff here; although I don't see how you got them all on only 2 CDs! Dark Star & In-A-Godda-Da-Vida should each fill up about half a CD. Next volume you need some of those unusual pairings - the country & jazz stuff too.
There is a great book of 60's posters called The Art of Rock & another devoted only to the Fillmores - The Art of the Fillmore. Some great cover ideas in those.

Vanilla Fudge is the absolute best. As is Tim Buckley, of course. This looks like a mix I would've made when I was 20.

Great mix, but one problem: no Allman Bros. Band? Allman Brothers Live At The Fillmore in 71 is probly one of the best live albums in rock history.... give em a shout!
