immersion, n
1 (3): complete attention; intense mental effort [syn: concentration, engrossment, absorption]
2 (4): a form of [audio] baptism in which part or all of a person's [consciousness] is submerged

Building upon a conversation I had in December, regarding the concept of "portable atmospheres", this incorporates minimalist drone & deep, layered space for the most part, with a gradual changeover to subtle, granular sounds near the end and supports resting as well as waking/creative states (depending upon one's
chosen volume level).Tracks 2 & 3 also reflect my recent foray into file-mucking/stretching;

track 2 was created from a sample received from Steve Roach in January
track 3 is a mash-up of three files from Matthew Florianz, now one track.

Senge Wangchuk, which closes the
set, and is the shortest tune @ just over 02:00, was a last minute addition during test playback.
Tibbett's quiet, treated guitar & Drolma's softly chanted Tibetan prayer slowly rise from Sundummy's
granular drone to create just the atmospheric ending I was looking for. Cover art generated from a WinAmp Media Player screen shot, during a subsequent playback(sound creating the vision)...then noodled with, a
bit, in Illustrator. Now if I only had a portable floatation tank...

Oh, you have conversations about the concept of "portable atmospheres", too!Now, here, I thought I was the only one! Geez, now, just you wait... EVERYONE's going to be talking about "portable atmospheres", soon! And, we'll be going, "Hah! Talking about "portable atmospheres" was like, so last year! Yeesh!!!" ;)

Great mix, btw...

Actually it's so 1998. But it's still a fabulous concept and should never go out of style! Great looking mix.

Sinking deeep into the skull, through ivory and grey matter, latching onto syn-napes & clutching elec-triads; burrowing into the very meat of being. Deep

As his eyes grew accustomed to the darkness, he realised the awful truth...he was blind...and the ambience swallowed him whole.
