Made for Lisa, who also posts on the Elliott Smith message board. I was making a mix for somebody else and came across the Brunettes song "Super Eight," which I thought would be a perfect song to use on a mix tape for Lisa, a fellow cinephile. So, I told her I would make her one and about half a year later it was finally in her hands (along with a bonus mix that I'll post soon). Songs by Joseph Arthur, Pernice Brothers and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah got dropped after I found out that she was already a fan of those artists. All in all, it's a very restrained mix, so that it might make all the more impact when it explodes on tracks like "You Were Right" (and can you believe that she's not already a Built to Spill fan?!). Anyway, I believe this is the first mix CD that I've ever sent to someone out of country, as she lives in Toronto. Hope the CDs have found a happy home.
