Comment:
Phones are unavoidably central to a long distance relationship. This mix is somewhat inspired by mine: England / France. Originally I meant to make a mix about the misunderstandings & confused messages one receives or sends down the wires, but the project grew too dark for my mood. An element of paranoia crept in, the results of which seemed to affect my last phone conversation. I think this is what's called method mixing. A grateful nod to my Canadian bud Cruella & my German bud Thomas for Astrud & Mina. Painting once again by Annie. Reproduced from a photograph.
Painter: Ann Gardner
Painting: `Mid-Day Heat' (1992)
Oil on Canvas 50"x 40"
Owner: unknown.

Feedback:
this really rings my bell. very nice, Dom. what about New Edition's "Mr. Telephone Man?" when he dials his baby's number, he gets a *click* every time.
Great idea, the execution is awesome. From Britney Spears to Mothers of Invention in three steps...Incredible.
Fabulous, Dom. Love the Art Gallery touch, too.
I can see Annie's a dab hand with an easel. And you Dom, are a dab hand at this mixing lark. 5 gold rings ( i mean stars ).
I usually waffle on in an annoyingly verbose stylee about this kind of thing. I'm going to try real hard not to. For now, I simply must express admiration and respect for this mix and its artwork. Oh yes -- admiration and respect -- and in that order!
Yip, sign me up for the fan club too, this is splendid indeed.
Primo. Excelante. Far freakin' out. I love it. Having lived this for 5 years (we're now married - telephone stock prices fell on the news), you MUST consider "So Far Away From You" by Dire Straits!!
. . . got your number (written on the back of my hand) . . .
Nomates comment, well, the second half, anyway, shall be inserted here (yes, in that order, admiration and respect)Isn't it fun when you are putting together a theme mix, and you have it down, and then...one of us (like me) comes up with Just One More Theme song?Telephone Line by The Electric Light Orchestra from A New World Record
Consider this comment a ringing endorsement for your method mixing. Er, uhm, great mix. And yet another wonderful painting.
Ooh la li la li, hate phones love the mix.
This is dialed in.
(just pathetic commentary, I know)

Love the art, Love the mix, Love Love (its February after all).
Another ecclectic mix. Lovely.
Very nice. Question: How many of these tunes actually feature dial tones? And does the mix end with a click? Or perhaps a lover saying "No, you first."
This is great!
Excellent! Has a ring of truth to it.., and I may be one of the few who actually enjoys that Beatles closing track...
No telephone pun from me... just thumbs up for music and painting.
Hallo? Yes. I just wanted to leave you a quick message to say I love your mix, you "Smooth Operator" and no hang-ups here (ha-ha). Auf Wiedersehen.
Bravo! Nice painting too.
You got my number!
Brilliant as usual from start to finish - but I just have to wonder: I haven't heard the Britney Spears but is that a cover of the old Orlons tune?? (but if so, I can't imagine she'd be up to it?)

Very nice, the opening and closing are actually two of my favs...and an interesting path between.
What, no "867-5309"? ;-)
The final song is the perfect crown.
