Comment:
I recently listened to a friend complain about mix tapes. The reasons she stopped making them, she said, was because she inevitably ended up including songs that she liked at that time, but couldn't stand listening to three months later. Songs with no staying power. Having fallen into that same trap myself now and again, I decided upon this: a tape of songs that I have loved, not for a day or a week or a month, but for months and months and years and years... there are several I can't remember NOT being a part of my life. Whether they make me happy or not-so-happy, each song on this tape has one thing in common: each will forever make me exclaim "I love this song" as I turn up the stereo. There is no real theme or deep meaning to this tape, and no special order. Simply songs that I love, spun together to form a tape I will never tire of listening to. I know very few people who would enjoy this tape even close to the way I do, which makes it perhaps the most personal tape I've ever made.PS I would have used the Elvis version of "In the Ghetto" if I had it, since that's the one I really love... alas, this is the only version I have right now.
Feedback:
Such a good mix -- mad props -- i comepletely agree with certain of them being imperative in life-- like harry chapin and edie brikell -- stuff i swear my mom must've played while i was in the carseat and now it is just there, in my personality forever -- OH im SO impressed!
Is it just me or is "Tiny Dancer" one of the greatest pop songs EVER? Great theme--I think I might have to do one myself...
