Tales of the Proverbial 2nd Chance v 57
Comment:
Reprise of my first serious Asia mix. Mmmmmmmm....maybe not so serious. If anyone can get me a copy of the complete Tokyo Shoeshine Boy version featured on the soundtrack of M*A*S*H, I would Super Appreciate it. It is the better version. But this track is so rare as it is, this had to do. The Aneka track is perhaps an oddity to the American listeners. Apparently it was a monster hit in Europe, but I don't recall it at all in the States. Maybe that is just me out of the loop on my island. Anyway, here is the mix reposted. There is one thing about the cover.....I swear I made up the mushroom bomb in the martini glass bit. A couple of years later, I saw it reproduced in a Playboy article released on the internet. It kind of pissed me off to see it there. Haha, yeah, right. Like I am not stealing anything...... Anyway, doozo yoroshiku onegai shimasu. Kiite kudasai. Doozo doozo.
Feedback:
Onward, ever onward; and upward no doubt. Doing the do right now -- this is the sound...
That Aneka song was Number 1 on the UK charts. She wore the worst fake Japanese Geisha wig ever made. Yeah, like you really wanted to know that. I just can't help myself. Switch off the light on your way out.
I have often linked Dick Hyman together with Kraftwerk together on my mixes....
Ahh, this is what I should be listening to this morning! Dig the Schifrin and Sumac tracks (as well as the art).
Interesting as always.
Bukowski is the best, the rest sounds like fun.
This looks ever splendid my friend..the cover art here is one of my favourites you have done. I'm deeply in love with it. My other favourite was the cigarette advert! A MOTW from me!
Ditto Dom!...wonderful and thanks for sharing...in the words of wynona ryder (ala the Family Guy). This is most good.
Interesting mix, and thanks for that opening tune.
A simply marvellous mix. You da man.
Lots of lovely tunes gathered here. And in the words of Wynona Judd, that cover is plum snazzy, boy.
The track list and the cover both look interesting.
