Comment:

Week Eight of my radio show on KDVS in Davis. Focused on specific kinds of electric organs this week, and it was lots of fun to research. I still don't understand what an Optigan is, but I'm pretty sure I can recognize what it sounds like now. You can see more info and download the show here: http://asucd.ucdavis.edu/radio/showme.cfm?show=993&title=Musical%20Toybox&back=_grid

Ooooo - this looks really good. I like the idea of Sam Phillips on a cd with Tom Waits and Daniel Johnston, as well as the Question Mark and the Mysterians. I've been meaning to listen to Dengue Fever.

Damn, you always highlight the greatest instruments! You have the absolute coolest series here. I usually only know maybe 10% of the music on each one but it's just a huge treat seeing your compilations of music that show off the best of the "novelty" (aka incredibly interesting) instruments. I only wish you had mp3 links...either way, keep up the brilliant work!

I love it when you open your musical toybox. Excellent edition. Especially the Dengue Fever.
