I interpret this cover as representing the victory of humanity over superstition -- the uniformed "policeman" is our great hope. From Carlene Carter to Rasputina , the message is clear -- Never stop listening, if there is such a thing as "truth", if there really is an "answer" -- don't pretend you know it. When you fool yourself, you harms us all. Stop it.To Jonpoi I say the opposite. With regards to the painting, please give credit and comments to the artist, Mark Ryden. He is responsible for images of Bjork and Christina Ricci and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' One Hot Minute as well as a lot of others. This happens to be one of my favorite paintings of all time.

My interpretation is: heaven is shooting a deathray at a skeleton dog doing a backflip into a dog suit...and for his efforts the little demon guy is scoring him a 9.4 with extra points for difficulty.
