Comment:

Here we have my first ever 'Continuous Mix', finally completed this afternoon. Thanks to Jonpoi & also Nomates for giving me some much needed help I am now no longer afraid of CD Mixing software! The mix wasn't planned, I merely decided to start with a random track ( thanks to Jenergy for that one ) then see what follows on best from that & so on and so forth. The result, a very upbeat mix filled with TV & movie soundbytes that I started slotting in as I found my feet. Oh, by the way, a CD of their choice goes to the first mixer who can tell me the name of the beautiful lady on the cover.

Cor blimey mate! Stone the crows and love the ducks etc. This rocks like a rocky thing with rocks that's had additional rocks added in a rocky fashion.I don't know whether to be afraid for all our futures or just plain pleased as punch for you at your newly acquired skills. I think I'll opt for the latter.Sammyg is the new Playa. Challenge him if you dare! Ooh, ooh -- just been listening to it some more -- bloody incredible! Everybody sing: Sammyg, Sammyg, Sammyg (fade).

Quite uncanny that Cale into CBB cos I'd been thinking of pairing the 2 together though not the same 2 tracks! Great mix & what you doing with a picture of Mrs. Frenchy on your mix?

CD mixing software? My lord, you guys are getting fancy. I miss the Pony Express. But this mix is ridiculously great, and your method is the best way to do mixes, I think (what is a planned mix, anyway?)

I feel duty bound by pedantry and obsessive disorders of many kinds to point out the following: When Sam speaks of "CD Mixing software", he is incorrect in every way. I believe that Sam made this mix using Audio Editing Software. This has nothing to do, whatsoever, with "CD Mixing software". They are two very different tools and should be seen as such. "CD Mixing software" is exactly that and would take away at least 78.9 per cent of the art and pleasure to be gleaned from a well put together "seamless" mix. I hope that Sam will take more care in his description of important points about these crucial matters in the future. I only mention this in order to confirm to you that I am a pompous ass and extremely anal retentive. If you inadvertently find yourself near me at any social or business gathering, my advice is that you run away at considerable speed. Now wash your hands.

Indeed, the term is non-linear audio mixing, the ability to create a production in less time than it takes to listen to it.

Return props to sammyg for using the software, I have been looking forward to some mighty fine efforts.

Further return peops to sammyg for making it available and....

YES

What a what a what a wonderFULL beginning! And that is all I can say 'cause I am listening as I am writing, but Yeah Yeah Yeah This is the stuff. This is how it works. Keep it working. Be happy with your new best friend. Enjoy a very long relationship. And be happy with the surprises that are in store as you become more familiar with it. On the second track now, and you still have me. I like this stuff 'cause I don't care what is playing and it holds me enough to not have the want to let go. Very very good and I truly am looking forward to listening more throughout the year. Five stars for a great start.

Nice work Sam. I have to take off about half way through, but I wanted to offer a gander and say Mary Lorson of Madder Rose?

Afraid not, blasikin. It's not Mary Lorson. It's not a young Mick Jagger either! I'm pretty certain it's not Mrs French Connection but who knows.... I'll keep y'all guessin' for now
