Growing Up Is Hard To Do
Comment:
I wanted to make a mix that represented growing up from childhood to adulthood with songs that a person could identify with whether male or female of any age. There were so many to choose from I had to narrow it down. Thus, #1-4 represent childhood. #5-11 represent teen and young adult. #12-16 & 21 represent the world of work as an adult. #17-23 represent adulthood from getting married to life with a family, and old age.Credit must be given to Little Spencer Boys for providing the song by The Toms,it fits in perfectly with the theme, and to my best friend Abs who provided Nourallah Brothers, Wilco, White Stripes, and a couple others.
Feedback:
Nice idea. I've said it before -- and you just know I'll say it again -- any mix with Five O'clock World on it, is alright with me. Lovely ending too.
Wonderful job, Sabrina!
very clever. Nice work
I like the idea. I've been wanting to make a mix of the same theme (highschool/being a teenager.) So yeah...
wohoooo! Wilco represent! I represent! nice mix :)btw, a new Rhett Miller album will be released soon, FYI.
This is great. It would be neat with a little Shel Silverstein mixed over the top.
Very well done. You capture the mood in a manner both fun and sincere. I confess I've been angsty and existential to many of these songs in my past. I especially like your 2 soundtrack cuts - the Stephen Duffy one is a great forgotten '80s song, and I remember how winning that gratuitous Anne Hathaway song was in the movie, but I'd forgotten about it (in less than a month, sadly). Both are apt for your theme. Any mix with any of the following things in it: that Ben Folds song (Fred Jones), Fountains of Wayne doing anything, "The Promise", or "Graduation" - has a special place in my heart :)
