Tales of the Proverbial 2nd Chance v 86
Comment:
A brand new mix. A tribute to another passion known as Texas Hold 'Em. With gratitude to Barrydali for a track that helped fill a straight. Meet me at Full Tilt throughout the day and night, search for feihua. The titles on the mix have plenty of tells that one doesn't need to explain how the show goes, but I will go ahead and suggest the vocal talents of Mike The Mouth Matusow on Chipped Tomatoes as being a very interesting piece of luck. Don't tell me I suck when you listen to Petty Booka's I Don't Sleep I Drink Coffee. Yeah, the vocals are perhaps the worst I have ever heard recorded in my life, but I also have reasons to believe there was a bluff going on in the studio. This is being presented in All In 96kbps Stereophonic Sound. It is an aggressive mix.Feedback:
Great cover!
Well, I know when I'm beaten. I fold.
That was a crazy game of poker.
lol great mix. Love the cover and i would have folded along time ago with that hand :-) nice one.
Great lookin mix as usual with good cover!
You are welcome to the tomatoes sir! The rest looks just as juicy too, another to add to the list. I'll catch up on them all one day I swear!
Who in THE hell is Phil Laak!!?? And what in the GOOD LORD's NAME is he doing sitting at the poker table disrespecting the good name of all of us gnomes!!!! Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a friendly game of cards...but a gnome at the poker table!...RUBBISH!!!I say, what has the gnome world gotten to...simply, simply dreadful. Now, for the mix: simply wonderful. It has become a tradition for this particular gnome (not the degenerate gambloholic pictured, here) to play your mixes during coffee in the morning. And, I, good sir, thank you.
I'm willing to bet that this mix can't be beat. But no Queen, Heart or Four Jacks and a Jill? ;)
Beware Jon, Motorhead may have 2 diamonds. The river can be a killer. Great to see a brand new mix from you Sir, I'm downloading right now.
Downloaded this mix from your site b/c I couldn't access AoTM. Am I the only who keeps getting locked out?
This is one incredible poker game, mix and concept.

Thanks for the pointers. Mixing using software is worlds apart from using my traditional turntables (blending/cutting/scratching) -or- splicing reel-to-reel analogue tape which I have been using both for what seems to be two lifetimes.
Hey, nice flop! And a nice mix as well, though there are a couple at the end I'm not familiar with. I'll have to check out the download.
hey man, thanks for the comment. this looks like great fun. i posted a poker-themed mix last year (here), but have since re-mixed it a bit and will re-post when i get the cover art fixed up. watch out for them pocket rockets !
GO ELO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phil Laak if an egomaniac with bad taste in women, in my opinion. And actually I prefer holdempoker.com, if only because it has better characters (people instead of donkeys, dogs, gnomes, and fish). But this mix is excellent, from the flop to the river.
"Phil Laak is an egomaniac", I meant to say. I much prefer Phil Ivey.
i wouldn't say that my selection of tracks is 'better' - rather, your mix just has a better pokerface :)
i *really* liked tracks 8 and 18 - the latter may have inspired that jammin' scene in 'tank girl'

I heard recently that Phil Laak had chosen to move to Los Angeles from San Francisco. I think that tells us all we need to know about the hooded leprechaun...
Haah! I never thought so much interest would be in Phil. I love the guy myself. I hope he does well again. He is a real kook.
