Comment:

Firstly, don't read too much into the title of this mix. It's working title was "Tom Waits For No One" but I changed that at the last minute feeling it was a bit naff. I chose to splice the titles of tracks 22 & 23 instead. There are quite a few love songs on here, though and the mix as a whole is quite upbeat (again). I will try my hand at a solemn mix one day, but the likes of Barry & Curtis do it so much better than I possibly could. So there we are then, another 'POP' mix! Enjoy.

Hey, Sammy, thanks for this. You pulled up with a Beach Boys track that I had all but forgotten about and this is going to be a nice one to have filling my home.

this looks like yet another great set. I'll have to give it a listen at work since my home computer wouldn't do it justice. in fact, it just wouldn't do it.

Very, very nice indeed! I love the look of so much of this - Orange Juice, Ian Dury and Robyn Hitchcock to name but three. And I have to admit, I quite like "Tom Waits For No One". Heh. :)

Sammy, this is great. Imagine my surprise to find Aberfeldy! I forgot a couple of these songs and it was great to be reminded of them in such a wonderful mix.

OMG, Little Peggy March, Aberfeldy, Sir Douglas, Shivaree! Nice work Sam. By the way, there's no rush on that solemn thing. ;-)

You Brits have some cool expressions. What is naff?

Funny you should make this. I am in the middle of a similar mix also. This is one fine mix. Think I am falling in love with a special lady of mine and this mix fits the bill perfectly in my heart. Great REM choice and Great mix all around.

Odd to end an upbeat mix with "For No One" or am I reading too much into that one? Don't get me wrong, I think the tracklist looks great, and "For No One" is one of my faves.

I have listened to this mix. I enjoyed it immensely. I am unable to say more about it. I am becoming more and more marginalized; and inadequacy sits heavy on my shoulders. The horizon is shrinking and I must prepare myself for nonentity. There may yet be hope in the penumbra...

Bloody good stuff Sam. The home stretch from 16 on in is damn near perfect. I'd forgotten about that Lick the Tins cover, brought back a few memories I must say. Another top effort matey.

Just what pop should be. Makes me smile. Took longer to get to listening to this than I'd hoped, but I'm sure it will be on replay for quite a while in our wee pad. The Beach Boys track is new to me and is rockin my world. Thanx!
