Comment:

79:56...ether...jazz...experimental-fusion...fading into the walls...then knocking
them down...

Born out of serendipity. Quite by accident, I stumbled onto a discussion forum thread re:
Ornette Coleman's
"Song X" this past February, AND, (independent of the thread) a friend gave me a
copy (twentieth anniversary edition) saying he bought it on a whim, can't stand it & knows
I'm into "sh*t like this"...SO, after rolling around me brain a bit (about a
month), "10" (10th in this series) transformed into Roman numeral 'X'...and then 'X' became
inextricably linked with 'Song X'
...and the rest...just...kinda' [noisily]...flowed...
Thanks to the
Curb-Ruiner for that Wobble/Parker gem &

Warren Carney for the new Jan Jelinek.

PLAYED TWICE?
Trivia: Guitarist Marc Ribot pulls double elemental duty (2 tracks), here with which other musician? Name it and fame & fortune are yours...
(well @ least a copy of this mix). The cover art proffers the 1st clue... ;- ]

Of the stuff I'm familiar with, this looks pretty neato.

This appears a bit gorgeous. I suppose Gabba Gabba Hey would not be an appropriate reaction. Nonetheless, Gabba Gabba Hey!

Really great stuff here, g.a.b. I really dig that Jan Jelinek and am quite pleased that I actually recognize a lot of stuff on here. Super-excellent.

Glorious Gene. Love the Braxton through Wobble & Parker stretch especially.

As usual, I'm not too familiar with these songs. As usual, I think your cover is outstanding.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

Mixxer-I'm guessing Sacagawea was, uhh, quite the Jazz fan?
Shawn-I was originally gonna' 'borrow' a track from your
excellent Space Madness 8...but the playlist was up @ around 84" & change...& I had to start cutting and splicing; the crossfades
finally brought it down to just under 80:00"
hemizen-Go for it, Terry; show us yr Jazz chops!
Nomates-Gabba, g@bba, what the hey...
Hmmm...there's those New Leif fellas, again...
Moe-Gee whiz, the trivia question isn't that hard...
is it?

Sacagawea preferred tom-toms, from what I've heard. But now that she is on a postage stamp she helps deliver CDs thru the US Mail...

Yeah, I have to admit I am totally out of the drum loop on this stuff, but I do like the color selection and it is very interesting to see Jah Wobble still busy after all these years.

Now here's some recentish (like within my lifetime) jazz I know. Escpecially dig some V5. I love Marc Ribot too, but am stumped by your quiz. I'm guessing he's sitting in with MM&W & maybe Bill Frisell.

The esteemed (6 years running) "growed up all wrong" (yet right), fella
has successfully identified Ribot appearance #1 (MMW).
He (Ribot) also appears with one of that illustrious trio on another track.
A combination of chronological elimination (aided, maybe, by Google) should yield the
balance of the equation...

Besides appearing together on MMW's End of the World Party, Marc Ribot and John Medeski also play with Trey Anastasio on Surrender to the Air.
