Once again I know sweet Fanny Adams here?
Opps, I haven't heard the LPDs in almost 20 yrs, love the Goblin and am not so sure 'bout the Annexus Quam. And Sweet Fanny Adams was a damn good album! ;)
I love a mix that the listener has to send in!!!! Good one, Curtis!
My eyes are seeing things they have never seen before thanks to you. Love the opener.
If you pick it, it will not get better. So let Curtis do the picking and perhaps it will. Like jonpoi says, Curtis, what may we send you?
Soaking this up, right now. Ahhhhhhhhh......
Christ. I'm only 2 minutes into this mix & I feel compelled to comment on this mix already. I'd never heard of the Legendary Pink Dots. Turns out they've put out 31 studio albums. How did they pass me by? Great stuff!
I wish my Internet connection wasn't such a temperamental slowcoach - the link might be moving a bit faster! But I'm very much looking forward to more auditory delights c/o you - got excited when I saw the LPDs at the beginning!
This looks great. I must share the same internet connection as Siobhan...
I don't think Clay Aiken covered any of these songs, but he did sing another Legendary Pink Dots song in the American Idol quarter finals. I think it was "The Unfortunate Demise Of The Fabulous Puccino Brothers."
Moe - you must rememeber Curtis' penchant for rearranging
letters to spell code words (a la Ruins Curbs). The title is
obviously coded. When rearranging the mix's title we get:
Clicky Dialed, or
I laid dyke (hmmm)
So there you, uhh...have it! Someone with a dial-up conection
clicked on his mix link & found it too slow...and all the while Curtis
was getting, ahhh...well it appears that he...uhm...
The again there's always 'Clad like Idy' (Amin ???)
Uhm, nevermind...
cOoL mix,
Idy, Curtis.

Had the pleasure of listening to this earlier today. Very, very cool indeed. Lots of stuff that's been blasting the airwaves at the Porter household, as well. {Shalabi Effect,Windy & Carl, Annexus Quam, Residual Echoes and Richard Youngs.) Thanks, mister.
Oh, this is ready now? Into the Sunday rotation it goes. And I am glad the Aiken vs Cassius thing has been more or less cleared up.
Okay, I always feel like Paula Abdul after a Curtis Burns mix. And I am sitting here, getting a bit drunk from the first beer of the day on top of no breakfast or lunch, and my wife is in the bath, and Laaa La Loh, and just what does she think about what she is hearing. And while there is no way I am going to say there is nothing but a kind of mastery here, I am also wondering where am I in the mix and how did I get here. Again, worthy of a white square piece of paper with an image of Goofy on it and a taste I have already acquired. Like the mysterious Leif, this is one I send to my closest friends Stateside. They don't listen to what I do. But they will listen to this. You know what I would like to do while listening to this? I wanna be on the beach flying kites. About midnight. With those crack and shake glow sticks that fisherman use attached to the line as it reaches toward the moon. And you know something? I just might do that.
This is so very, very good. That Legendary Pink Dots cut is fantastic. All the transitions here are faultless. Love the Shalabi Effect pick and the Residual Echoes piece. Superb, superb.
Amen (!) to the Legendary Pink Dots! (always reminds me, when I see them, to ask myself: "which is the floor and which is the ceiling?") Go Sitruc!
Looks really tasty - you've done it again, Curb-man!
