For Valis. Thanks to Mo Twang! for suggesting the Drive By Truckers song, and for introducing me to the Farrell Eaves photo I used for the cover.

Never mind anything else, the song titles are sheer poetry in themselves. Surely this mix cannot sound as good as it looks...

Ohh! This looks excellent. Really, really like #2, the 4-7 stretch, 10,15,18,and 19. Any mix with Fiery Furnaces and Chet Baker is top notch.

Absolutely beautiful. Standouts for me are the Tom Waits, Beachwood Sparks, Fiery Furnaces and Norman Blake. Valis is a lucky punk ;)

WOW!
(I would've missed this-guaranteed, if the France-residing Angleman hadn't hipped me to it; after 7x7 tries these past few days I thought the site had died.)
THANK YOU Misfit, for the mix and the sending of same!(I'll certainly bump it up the stack and return with more apt praise and hallelujahs!) Note to Siobhan:I've *always* been a "lucky punk"...

Hey Misfit......

Just spent the last two days with "the Beautiful Narcotic Place I Reside" in
the car whilst driving hither-n-yon' for various items of need & note.
The mix is beautiful...! Absolutely outstanding. Too many prior unknowns to
me to have given any comment worthwhile, but-after hearing it twice through
these past two days I can give at least something resembling "the way I
heard it."

To wit, The opener into Dr. John was super; (I have a friend who sent me
some Dr. John but it just didn't grab, this-placed in another context pushes
me to have another go at him.) The Crazy Horse version of "Gone Dead Train"
was cool, too. The trifecta, for me, was the Beachwood Sparks (unsure if I'd
heard that before or not, I'll have to research the release it came from),
into Neal Casal into Mary Gauthier. Not being a fan of female vocals (with
exceptions) I sat bolt upright when she started....the lyrics were amazing
on "Wheel Inside the Wheel"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (It was the first tracked I
played when the mix had finished, before I started all over. WOW! She's a
revelation. Also loved the Waits into the Pines segue and then the Chet
Baker after that......gorgeous and smoky.

I hope you know how much this one kicks me. Bravo! and......THANK YOU,
again. It wasn't at all necessary but I'm thankful you made it and I rec'd a
copy.

I bow, easterly and slightly north...

This looks like it would be addictive. Dr John is spooky, & Mary Guthier is haunting . . .
