Tales of the Proverbial 2nd Chance v 53
Comment:
Reprise of the broadcast mix. Despite what many continue to think, Tokyo Rose was an American hero. Without a doubt, including what many think, she was the greatest disc jockey of the 1940s. No one was more influential in the world of broadcasting, she was a spy, she was working for the right side as the Right Sight MC and she got dumped on in such a major way that even Kurt Vonnegut wrote a major work with her as the inspiration. This is the show that asks "When is the real show really gonna get started?" Some of it works, some of it doesn't have to, some of it gets a lot of help from strange circles. And some of it is funny and that kind of thinking is what kept Tokyo Rose going even when she was in the hoosegow. GIs, this is presented in 96kbps high fidelity.
Feedback:
Looks great as always.. About to hit play. 2-7 are all time faves and Rocks off? Possibly the greatest tk1 side1 of all time. Now there's an idea....
Thanks for your comment.Which flaming lips song where you referring to?
I concur concerning the unfortunate Ms. Toguri. I presume it is her that you are referring to with your "Tokyo Rose" tag. Would any of us have acted otherwise? As to your mix -- I'm oft heard banging on about jonpoi this and jonpoi that -- it fair sets the tongues a-wagging. But jonpoi this is one of your best -- and jonpoi that is all I have to say about it --except "Always remember to be good and soo...goodbye now.
Beautiful, Jon, again, beautiful. Can play this in my head and will be soon playing it for my ears.
jon - i missed seeing new mixes from you, and now I see this year you're back with a vengence! Great stuff as always. I love any mix that follow the Smothers Brothers with Depeche Mode, and based on your track record - I'm sure it works.
