Comment:

Warning: There is no intention to make fun of, ridicule or otherwise belittle Islam, the Hajj, Makkah or any other aspect of the Muslim faith by posting this mix.Actually it was inspired by the impression left on me by thousands of pilgrims all dressed in white earlier this year who I passed as they made their own Hajj on the way to Makkah this year. And in part it was inspired by my interest in travelling for the sake of travelling. In seeing so many people going through so much effort it made me wonder whether anything changes after completing the Hajj, or whether Oingo Boingo is correct . . . . Insha 'Allah !

I'll say it again for the benefit of others:
I like 2, 3 & 7, but the Pitney through Holmes stretch is
impeccable. Incredible. Inspirational. I am in love with that
Delgados track! Then Siouxsie through The Five Blind Boys - sublime.
This mix is pretty fucking close to perfection, mein freund.

Nice one. This was actually one I had hoped people would do; I wanted to do it myself but I'd never have been able to do t so well. Love the David Holmes, Delgados, Siouxsie and a bit of Gene Pitney is always good.

Ah gobi.., the theme & tracklist interest me a lot. (Strange, but every time I see a picture of the place I think of another intrepid traveler, like your self-Capt. Sir Richard Burton. That and the stone...) What a great opener, too. Let Banco de Gaia set the tone!
