first, let me explain my 'mix names.' i don't give my mixes names. if it's not a single artist or band compilation, it will be categorized under two 'series.' [BOX] an anything and everything audio package...no rules. [DCR] stands for 'dead city radio' and is borrowed from the album of the same name by william s. burroughs, which had tremendous influence on me as a youngster. these mixes are compiled from wav files taken directly from cd. also, DCR mixes are often dark and beautiful whereas BOX mixes are usually kept upbeat and fun.the numbers following are the date it was finished.
ok, comments on this particular mix. this is perfect for around the campfire. i hardly need to say more...but i will
after frank sings 'fly me to the moon' there is abrupt thunder which after about 30 seconds, leads into riders on the storm [pretty ingenious, huh?] the thunder is taken from an environments cd called 'thunderstorm.'
neil finn re-recorded 'don't dream it's over' for the princess diana tribute 2cd. both are great but this version appears here.
finally, 'highway' is the final track on the moody blues boxed set 'time traveller.' it seemed appropriate to also have it close this mix.
there's some incredible stuff here. the best version of hey joe you'll ever hear, courtesy of robert plant. cyndi lauper, neil finn, tom petty, paul simon, peter gabriel...i'm just so proud of this mix. so many talented artists. why isn't their music played on the radio! god, corporate radio makes me soo mad i could scream! i don't throw stuff together quickly. often i'll piece it together over time. this one took a little while. i'd be happy to trade with anyone who is equally passionate about music.
ok, i think that's it...gotta go. have a great weekend.

welcome, Spaceboy. great first posting. quite eclectic and it does seem that "there's some incredible stuff here," but we're supposed to be the ones to say things like that.
