This mix was inspired by my live action role playing character Miranda, who's a gypsy. I needed some music to play while on the road to the game. Included is lots of bellydancing arabic music, some songs about gypsies.. basically anything mystical-minded and fun to dance to. Regarding #20: I'm not sure what it's real name is or who it's by, but I found it on Limewire under the heading, "Good Iranian Bellydancing Music".

Great lead off, with some pleasurable surprises (Voltaire, Calexico, the underrated gem in Three Dog's Night canon, and even that polarizing McKennitt song). Never woulda thought of a gypsy mix myself; a subject ripe for mix-idation, well done :)
A great culture clash. I have a friend who comes over and downloads lotsa bellydancing music. Some amazing stuff!
Great cover, Great narration and nice tuneage. Some Gypsy Kings would have also fit. (Oh I see you DO have 'em, sorry) In any case they do a kick ass version of "Hotel Califotnia"!
