I made this in part because I've either been getting into some of these artists a good bit lately or I've been meaning to check them out for a while; and in part to expose my sister, who listens to a lot of glossy Nashville pop country, to some of the other "country" music that's out there.Feedback:

I kinda hate the song drunken angel because i find lucinda's rapy voice singing it depressing in a way that makes me fear aging and want to take a bath that includes a rigorous loofah scrub, but i've been menaing to make a country mix for folks that hate country for ages (i usually just give them my personal best on whiskeytown instead). Wanna trade? Or share?

I (and others) call this 'roots country'... and 'alt country' and of course 'outlaw country'. But where current country radio is to current pop radio (both IMHO high on the 'suckage' scale THIS and others of the genre is flat out, back the truck up, pop a beer, GOOD. I like this a lot (can you tell?) and any mix with Gram Parsons and Kinky Friedman & the Texas Jewboys is, damn fine, right! Thanks

Very nice mix.I disagree w/RubytwoShoes. I love Lucinda William's voice because it IS unique. The way Bruce Springsteen's is. They have a richer quality to them.
