Comment:

Not all inspired by Bond who made his debut in print in 1953. The Saint for instance was created in the twenties by Leslie Charteris. Roger Moore who was not the first or last actor to portray The Saint made his debut in 1962, the same year the first Bond proper made his debut. France's OSS 17 character also pre-dates Bond, created in 1949 by Jean Brochet. Oss' debut was in 1956 and though popular in print failed to ignite the box office. In 1963, the same year as Dr. No was released in France, Oss was re-activated and continued for a further 3 titles. Other espionages includes a commercial for The Edeka supermarket chain that utilises The Godfinger theme, incidental music from The Saint & Secret Agent Man, Bond Spoofs.you know the score by now.
