Comment:

One of the great things about Elvis was, the he was a huge lover of music and knew a great deal about music. We know that he loved gospel music. He also loved vocal groups like the Platters, the Ink Spots and the Drifters. He loved guys with big voices like Mario Lanza and Roy Hamilton. And he did some of the songs on this mix himself, as we all know.
So this cassette should appeal to the King. Or should I say: this cassette would have appealed to him?

While I am not much on the 'big voice' singers, I sure love the rockabilly, blues and gospel quartet stuff here. The Golden Gate Quartet just ALWAYS knocks my socks off!

I find myself trying out some of these songs in my head in an Elvis voice. Lovely. Did he ever cover Joshua fit the battle of Jericho?

Yes. I think, "Joshua" is on the "His hand in mine"-Album (1960).
