As much as a love obscure sub-sub-genres of metal and rock like "Blackened Cybergrind" and "Ambient Deathgore", sometimes it feels good to listen to straight up rock, pop, and metal. This mix is a tribute to bands that haven't gotten caught up in the current fad of hyphenated subgenres and still know how to write a song that does nothing more than rock my face off. It runs the gamut from straighforward pop (Bleu) to 80's-influenced metal (3 Inches of Blood, Jag Panzer) to stuff inspired by more classic rock (Clutch, Spoon, Jet).
