What's Up, Dadrock?
Comment:
I'm a longtime fan of Warner Brothers Loss Leaders samplers. As a smart shopping music hungry kid I thought it was a great way to get hip to dozens of artists quickly and usually for just a couple bucks. Their eclectic blend of tunes has been a constant influence on my mix making, so why not compile a mix of my favorites. These picks come from WEA albums released between '68 - '77. After that my musical interests shifted, but the comps kept coming 'til sometime in the eighties including a not bad at all punk/new wave volume called Troublemakers.A second mix should follow tomorrow. Enjoy these groovy sounds from another era here.

Feedback:
This looks fantastic. Cover art is exceptional as I've now come to expect. The tracks here I know I love, so I'm looking forward to hearing the rest. Cheers for the link.
Looks wonderful. File doesn't appear to be Mac compatible, alas.
Wow! A real beaut. I think there is a way for macs to open .ace files. I'll check into it. Ah, yes: http://unacex.sourceforge.net/
Dad rock at its best, top VM track & the closer is exceptional.
Uh oh, looks like "Ephrem the Retarded Rabbit" is learning his uppence has come. All animated show quotoes aside, great mix! The Graham Central Station into Zappa into Little Feat is tremendous ground covering transitions...amazingly adept selections. And, it's good to see GTO going to good use.
Freaktastic (in a distinctly early '70s kinda way)! I'm glad to see that you finally got around to posting this. Top-notch and definitely in the spirit of those comps. I'll be wanting this, of course, as well as any future volumes...
I feel kind of old all of a sudden!Of course I like it . . . . (and thanks for the link)
All this was before my time... I wish it wasn't at times. Fantastic collection.
Awesome.
Nice little treasure trove. Wild to see Mr. Fisher included in those comps.
YAY! Where's the Ice Capades commercial?!?
A very very faithful adaptation of the cover. I have waited a long time for this one.

If this is Dadrock, then dads are hot!
As outstanding (and cheaply had) as the compi's which inspired this. very.
Outstanding cheap goodness!
I loved the LOSS LEADERS series and this is a great companion!
This is a really neat mix wish they had some kind of Loss Leaders for today.
Who knew Loss Leaders could be this great?? Thanks again, and thanks to Blasikin for the Mac tip!
Hell yeah! I'll be checking this out fer sure.
Yep, the Warner Brothers Loss leaders were important to me as well... and I am frustrated that they what NEVER been released digitally, so frustrated in fact that I have sugggested recreating the WB Loss Leaders with the help of me AOTM friends. ANy takers?
That WB serie looks cool, never seen them before
