Comment:

This is the sixth mix in a projected series of 12 (The other mixes so far: 01-01-01, 02-02-02, 03-03-03, 04-04-04, 05-05-05). Each is made on the date in the title. I'd planned to make all 12 cassette mixes, but my tape deck broke (!!! end of an era )-: ).

The obvious thing to do for this particular date would be to make a devil themed mix (and I'm sure plenty of other people had the same idea - I'm going to check the archives when I'm done posting this one. It's been a while since I've had the chance to check the site). On the other hand, a devil mix was kind of too obvious. Also, the 6th of June was 2 days before my 30th birthday, and I kind of wanted to make a birthday mix. Added to that was the general theme of these date mixes, which is basically to be able to listen to whatever I was listening to every 13 months. A specific theme mix doesn't go along with that.

In the end, I decided to incorporate all three ideas. The mix is primarily a devil-themed mix, with some songs specifically about the devil or hell or something and some just titled in a relevant way. There are also some birthday songs ("Unhappy Birthday" is my favorite birthday song of all time). Finally, there are some songs I couldn't get out of my head ("Justified & Ancient"). It all has a surprising unity, so yay and such.

The cover (and it's been a while since I've actually made covers for my mixes, so yay and such again) is from a tract I got from this woman who was handing them out about a year or so ago. I purposely kept it to use the artwork for this mix. The gold guy's supposed to be the Antichrist.

Unhappy Birthday, stranger!!! Welcome back and won't you make your stay an extended one this time?
I still rock DV at the start of a show if I need to get into the zone. Thanks again!
