The Dawning of The Summer of Love (1967)
Comment:
Songs from the first half of 1967. One of the instrumentals in this mix was used in the Benson & Hedges commercials and another one was used in Diet Pepsi commercials. Some songs that didn't make the cut: James Brown's Bring it Up, Simon & Garfunkel's At the Zoo, Spencer Davis Group's Gimme Some Lovin', The Buckinghams' Don't You Care, and The Rolling Stones' Ruby Tuesday. The link on the first song title goes to a download of the mix (160kbps and 91.6 megs in size).
Feedback:
Interesting timing, I just watched VH1's "The Drug Years" yesterday and was totally in the mood to put some flowers in my hair. Great opener and numerous other groovy picks!
A lot of fine picks here. Those were the daze. Nice work, Joe.
Good avoidance of the obvious. In fact good full stop.
damn fine, Retro, damn fine indeed.
Looks really great.
Peace, love and happiness to you also!
Oh wow. This is great. Awsome job!! 5 stars from me.
An excellent soundtrack to my Sunny Afternoon. I pretty much loved it all, especially the Joe Tex - Herb Alpert stretch. Thanks for the link RJ.
I love your mixes! You are the billboard master. May the Rascals stay forever young in our hearts.
