Comment:

Full disclosure: Unlike our other mixes, this is a mix of tunes procured by means other than original CD sources (hence our laziness in not including the usual album/year info.). Not entirely, of course, but in the main many of these come from downloads (no snobby download purists in this lot) and tracks offered up by other-than-our-core mixers. As such, the sound quality, although "normailized" and as perfect as we could get, might be a little dippy in places. Yes, it's yet another train mix, but we hope some of our choices, plus our sequencing/blending, etc., will make it attractive to y'all. We've also got plans in the works for an instrumental version in the not too distant future. See first track for full mix.

Everybody who considers themselves a mixer should do a train mix at some point in their lives -tho expecting them to' live upto the standard set here is one BIG ask

Right on track! Wonderful collection. As far as snobby download purists but not to be one that creates any controversy here at AoTM... *smiles*
SONY (and other majors) dealings are duplicitous. They cry foul when folks download music for free and add computer-harmful software to music CDs. Well, SONY is a music label but also manufactures CD-Rs, rippers, and burners. Perhaps, not happy with peddling personal players like walkmans and discmans, SONY decided to go for the whole pie instead just a slice. I used to be a record rep and I know the inequities of SOUNDSCANr and standard procedures that do not give $$ back to the artists. Downloading and street mixtapes are oft times used as a way of previewing before purchasing the "real deal". Remember, it was the bootleg industry, not standardisation, that forced down the prices of CDs, VHS and DVDs!

I've been thinking about doing a train mix, but I don't think I could top this one. Nice variety and leading off with Ozzy is genius. I'd also like to thank DJ Karen Adams for the insightful comment.

I am working on a 'brief history of country rock' and am also amazed at how prominently train songs are in the genre. Today I can't get the Every Brothers "I Don't Think I'll Ever Get On A Train Again" outta my head. Could be worse (since I spent 7 years commuting with Mr. Amtrack between Delaware and Newark NJ...)

Thanks for the link! Fantastic having this mix open with Ozzy, one of my all time heroes! Amazing just how many train songs there are - who'd have thought it! Really looking forward to listening to this.

I've long held the opinion that every human should be required to make a train mix for membership into society. They're just so much fun! And no two are alike. And there's no such thing as a bad train mix. This one looks fabulous.

Now here's a New Leif I can turn over & over!
I must admit that oftentimes you guys are sailing way over my head & I can only gape slack-jawed, but here are some choo choo ch-boogies I can relate to - including even a halfdozen or so of my all-time train favorites. Thanks for letting me bum a ride!

I have to side with Curtis on The Eagles, but this is clickey-clack otherwise. (In train-speak, that's GREAT!)
