Comment:

This mix is part of a summer-long series dedicated to everyone at AOTM, but to a few mixers in particular. The NLA was born out of both a lark and an attempt to diversify listening habits and mixing formulae. The mixers named in this series are those who continue to inspire us, who've helped us abandon (somewhat) our musical prejudices and open our ears to a multitude of new sounds. We hope this series is a two-way street, of course, and that these mixes have a similar affect on their subjects, inspiring THEM to keep up their excellent mixing. Click here to download mix. P.S.

The first person to brave this mix and identify which track contains a musical quote from Three Blind Mice wins their very own, personalized mix.

It's always great to see Keiji Haino, Marc Ribot, and John Fahey listed anywhere, particularly on one mix.

I agree with Rob. This is out of this world, as musicgnome's mixes always are. So much is unfamiliar here so I look forward to the download -- thanks!

Astonishing. This sums up perfectly what I aimed to do with my last mix. You don't hear this kinda stuff on Top Of The Pops..

Wow, that was a rigorous and stunning listen! The first half stood out especially for me, some of the best moments I've heard in a New Leif mix. Doesn't get much more experimental than this. certainly like something out of the darkest reaches of the gnome's Menace series. Great work! (I didn't hear any spoken word/quotes though, maybe I'm going crazy.)

This baby will be in my ears as I stroll to work this morning. Like the look of that 7 & 8 pairing. Nice.

Did they all quote Three Blind Mice? Actually, found it quite scary and had to turn off half-way through, but will bravely go to the end over the next few days...

Cuts as wide a swath over recorded music as the mixer it's in honor of...., and just as inscrutable, too!

Looks good. The Gnome is certainly worthy of a tribute mix. And like his mixes, I recognize about 7 percent of this.

Okay, after a number of listens. I believe the answer to the question above is (and I am guessing as I am unfamiliar with most pieces above and the fades make it difficult)...but at the 46:31 mark - Buckethead - Inbred Mountain?
