One *should* be obsessed with Mr. Darnielle, as he is (IMHO) the greatest figure in modern-day music and the greatest lyricist in the history of popular music (and yes, I *am* a Dylan fan). The fact that he's also one of the most approachable, genuinely friendly guys on the planet also helps his cause, I'd suspect. Props to you for compiling this--you might be interested in my Mt Goats comp from a couple of years ago ("How to write this kind of equation"). Big props for choosing tracks 2-6, 8, 10-11, 14-16, 18, 20, 22, and 28.

I am also a Mountain Goats fanatic, amazing how much incredible material there is to choose from. 3,4,11,20 and 25 are personal favs.
