My first Big Star, and it is absolutely brilliant. I will forever be grateful to Rob for introducing me to them. Some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard.

Ack! This'd be the most perfect Big Star collection *ever* if only you'd been able to fit "I'm In Love WIth A Girl" on it. Maybe it's just a personal favorite, but I much prefer it to most of the "thirds" record which seemed in the same ethereal/acoustic vein. Otherwise, it's brilliant, Rob.

I've just rediscovered my "Third" CD and am obsessed with it. Great mix of a great band. (And wouldn't it be great if we could get Wilco to do a cover of Kangaroo?)

Being that all of their studio work fits on to two discs, on would think this wouldn't be that difficult, but I can't imagine being able to cut it down to 25 songs. I'm listening to Radio City right now and thinking about it, and as each song comes on I think, "Oh, I'd have to put this one on." So, needless to say, this is superb. And, though I know you go in chronological order and it just worked out this way, "The Ballad of El Goodo" is one of the most beautiful ways to open an album that I can think of.

Oooh... Yet another wonderful band and mix, and yet another I'd love to have! I should really stop looking at your mixes.
