Comment:

Okay, this is my first mix, so I hope you guys like it. This mix was inspired when I was reading someone describing "A Day in the Life" in a magazine recently and they were talking about how in the song everything is falling apart and it sounds like the world is coming to an end, so I figured I should base a mix around it. I based the progression of the mix loosely on the book of revelation, I have always found various religious writings fascinating, and revelation is by far one of the most interesting and coded there is. Basically, for those unfamiliar, in the begining the antichrist comes off as good and "Sets you free" promising peace but leading into war, (Holiday.) After this comes the rapture (Where are all of my friends). Then basically chaos. I also broke one of my cardinal rules and put two tracks by the same artist onto the mix, but I figured it is somewhat justifilable if they both open and close the mix. The reason I did this is because the two tracks both have a very intense caucophany sound which seemed fitting, and I like to think as my mixes as little sound tracks so those two tracks would be the opening and closing credit songs respectively. I also liked the symbolism of having the Beatles coming back a second time at the end. "Is it Jesus, no it's the Beatles, they're bigger!" Not to mention the backwards masking at the end of the day in the life kind of reminds me of going backwards and rebirth, starting again, reincarnation. Am I the only one who puts this much thought into these things?
