Comment:
"Keep your sunny side up!" a gin-fuelled Lee Sutton instructs. This is for a dear friend who will soon be going into (the) hospital for a bit of surgery. Here are a few songs to hopefully amuse, bemuse, distract, uplift, or otherwise entertain him both pre- and post-op. I hope the rest of you will enjoy it too! Et voila: part 1 and part 2 . Feedback:
. . . well I am certainly bemused . . . I dont know most of this - looking forward to the link to learn more.My best wishes for your friend . . . speedy recovery and all that.
Only know the Brazilian Octopus and Charles Wright here, but I'm looking forward to the link as well...
This looks fantastic. I'm looking forward to checking those links later.
Excellent. A great listen. Favourites included 2,4,11,12,21 & the closer. I was hoping the Judy Mackenzie pick would be a cover of the Howard Jones classic, that would've been great. And I never knew there were no crocodiles in Cocody....
Of what I know...I dig. Of what I don't I shall seek out. Love your mixes, plain and simple.
Lot for me to explore on this one.
I greatly enjoyed listening to this; it was entertaining and uplifting. Two names caught my attention when I scanned the tracklist: Francis Bebey, and Bruno Sp÷ri. Francis Bebey apparently sometimes uses Pygmy yodeling in his recordings, but I have never heard it. Unfortunately this song didn't have any yodel--but I enjoyed it, nevertheless. The other name, Bruno Sp÷rri, is familiar because he is a Swiss guy. Interesting that he shows up on this mix.
Great all-around mix.
Looks wonderful, I'm downloading now.
Didn't know anything but the Jamal track until I downloaded. Quite an adventure! Really like 3,4,10,12,14, and 20 and the closer is one of the oddest things i have ever heard, strangely intriguing. Well Done!
looks very interesting
love the cover...a most orchid lookin' mix.
A mix made with the precision of a surgeon. Hope this helps your friend get through his operation with a smile on his face and a scar on his stomach (or back, or knee or thigh). Lovely handmade cover too.
spent last evening relaxing with spaghetti, wine and Wheel and Turn, Angel, so nice. ones I really like include 7|10|12|15. the ones I love are 14|18|21. and your opener brought mist to my eyes. [too much wine?]
I always look forward to your mixes.... Having some kind of technical glitch right now, however, and can't download for immediate gratification (boo). I WILL be back, though: it WILL be mine!
Peerless, as always.
This is muito muito legal.
Another great mix. I especially like the Marc Moulin, Charles Wright, Love and Ahmad Jamal picks. Quailty as usual.
