Comment:
My latest alt-DJ collaboration, this time with alma cogan. alma supplied the odds, I supplied the evens. On this occasion, my partner sent me a CD with 40 minutes' worth of music but left it to me to place those tracks in whatever order I wanted to place them. Once I finished making a mix from the submitted picks, I supplied the linking tracks. I'm seriously digging the result and alma's exact words (although, again, my partner hasn't yet *heard* the mix) were "[t]hat looks like the fucking business." Indeed, I think. Title from Wooden Wand. Thanks to sammyg123 for the Shack track and to Mr. P for actually helping me to discover how much I like the self-titled Zevon album.Feedback:
Well teamed, diggin 7-8, 20-21 and the closer especially.
looks like a nice time
Wow, I'd love to hear this-
this does INDEED sound like the fucking business!
this does INDEED sound like the fucking business!
Lots to love here . . . the Pink Mountaintops have regular aiplay in the Gobi household . . . Oasis, ZZ Top and Warren Zevon also get a regular airing. Have just discovered Ariel Pink and Uncle Tupelo. . . good stuff . . .
Nice job guys, really like the 5-9 run.
Fuck YEAH, man!!! EXACTLY what sport said, this is indeed the fucking business. Scary good, guys.
Top Notch!
Really cool mix you two created. 2, 7 and 9 are some favourites of mine.
I like what I know and what I don't, I will get familiar...soon!
Particularly like the look of the 10-14 sequence. Thumbs up to ya both
Some crackers on this.
i love that beasties song off paul's boutique - i always forget how much i love that album. great songs from oasis, petty & uncle tupelo too.
Fantastic work you two! Nice to see how many genres are represented here, and I like the Warren Zevon, BJM and Buzzcocks picks a lot. Ditto Anthony on the Beastie Boys - that album's always a pleasant surprise when I put it on.
The nature of this collaboration is just about the only way I could submit a mix this days, sadly I can only get a connection for about 3 mins a day of late. Love this mix from start to finish, nice one guys.
I'm not in the fucking business, but I know a damn good mix when I see it.
DJ Karen spoke from my fingertinps... agree, what I konw, I like, and thems I don't I will....
This looks awesome, I'd love a copy :) 11-15, wow. Great opener as well..
lots I don't know here also, but dig the ZZ Top/Uncle Tupelo combo as well as the Buzzcocks, Tom Petty and Beastie Boys. You're coming up with some wonderfuly creative methods for the Alt DJ thing,
...with some real nice results!
Great work guys! Some great even and odd tracks, with plenty of amazing curves.
Interesting work fellas. Has the look of the collage approach you took.
Really cool mix. Get well soon!
Beastie Boys, Masekela and Buzzcocks! This shit is wild!!!
Some really interesting choices here - I'd love to hear this sometime.
