Comment:

Well, it has been one and a half years since his final exit from the stage. A year since the celebration of his life at his Woody Creek compound. I've done two other mixes previously (posted 3/3/05 & 4/23/05) that I devoted to HST, and I've used similar artists on this mix (a few songs were borrowed from an earlier 'Southern Style Rock' mix; posted 11/12/2004). Just songs I think he would have liked (as well as I). Am including a link on the first song title to the mix in the m4a music file format.

Nice tribute Joe (as were the first two.) I'm about due to read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas again (about the 12th time). When the going gets weird.....

... the weird turn pro... Indeed. The Day It Happened I was gut shot thunder struck, couldn't breathe, a sharp kick to the balls. Why? Vonnegut I could see, wouldn't feel any different, but I could understand it. Sort of. Doc? No. Had to be a misprint, surely. My daughter was incapable of speech. We held each other and she wept. I would have, if I could have created a rational thought. Then I picked up The Great Shark Hunt and read "Why Hemmingway..." and flipped to the article and read it and thought...Doc, you glorious sunuvabitch, you told us, way back then, what was going to happen, when and why...Never Surrender. God. Damn. It.
