Comment:

Compiled by request, despite the fact that I have nothing resembling a comprehensive John Prine collection (I've got the first two albums in their entirety, then an additional disc of tracks that I cherry-picked from the double-disc Great Days comp). That said, I feel pretty confident that this mix features all of *my* favorite John Prine songs... My honest assessment: I like the guy well enough--he certainly comes across as genuinely warm and witty--and can pretty much say that tracks 1-13 of this mix are classics, along with a few others (15, 17, 18 and 22, in particular), but can't imagine that I'd want to spend a lot of time exploring the rest of his catalog.

Another worthy single artist mix here Rob and a title I have used myself for a mix a while back from the wonderful Sam Stone. Good job.

time is our greatest resource and one must prioritize, however, there are other prine treasures out there to discover. fine choices from your limited collection.

Nice selections. I'm pleased to see "Bruised Orange" here, as it's one of my two or three favorite Prine songs. I do miss "Paradise" and "My Mexican Home," though.

This is some prime Prine right here. And you did a very good job at making selections considering, as you say, you don't own a lot by him. I don't either, I have to say, but I do really like his stuff - like The Misfit it's good to see Bruised Orange there, and a lot of other stuff ranks among my favourites. He came to a concert hall in Glasgow last year; I'm kicking myself I didn't go and see him...

Really nice picks, Rob!
'Sam Stone' seems especially sad for these times.

I actually have more John Prine in my Media Library than I realised, and as such have listened to a fair chunk of what's on this mix today. I think you've put together a pretty solid collection Rob, top marks. By the way, your mail arrived this morning in super-fast time. Cheers!
