Comment:

This is a car tape I made. I set out to make a tape that combined the best KNOWN 60's garage songs (or at least my personal favorites -- Band albums and stuff from the "Nuggets" Box Set) with the obscure "creme-de-la-creme" of the Back From The Grave, Teenage Shutdown and Pebbles comps. There are three songs here that were recorded from a very rare (but great) 60's punk compilation titled "Nightmares From The Underworld." It is a comp of soley Canadian bands, most of which originating from Montreal. The rest of the non-compilations songs were taken directly from albums (see: The Monks, The Stooges, The Sonics, Chocolate Watchband, The Velvet Underground and The Litter)

Either way, this is one of the best flowing mix-tapes I've ever made and so far everyone I've played it for agree's that it rules. 1960's garage punk might be the best "overlooked" genre in rock 'n' roll history. It's a shame that besides the "Nuggets" crew that so many of these songs were overlooked until almost 30 years later.
