I'm always checking out old soul and funk compilations and they all seem to have the same songs. Here's something a little different.

i agree superfly, it sometimes gets all a bit samey. the difficult thing though is to venture off the beaten track, but retain the quality, & if some of the tunes that i'm not familiar with are as good as the dells & the bessie banks, you've done jus that!

Very nice indeed. Some of these certainly do seem somewhat obscure. I'm familiar with 3 - 5, 9, 11, 13 - 15, 20, 22 and 25, so I'll have to dig for the rest. Thanks. Never can have too much soul.

I like Ice Cream, but, yes this mix is miles better. This is the finest Debut posting I've yet to see on AOTM. Welcome.

Some tasty selections, and not the same ol' flavors! Anyone into old (and obscure) soul should check out: http://funky16corners.wordpress.com/

Seriously fantastic - and like Sammy said, welcome to AotM! Definitely know what you mean about funk/soul comps - good as all that stuff is, there's a lot more which is forgotten about, so good for you for making this.
