Comment:

No real rhyme or reason to this, just something I felt like assembling, and it flows rather nicely. Had to make a fair number of cuts (i.e. Jeff Buckley, Elvis Costello, Paul Westerberg, Kristin Hersh), as I wanted to keep it to a single disc. May need to add a second volume down the road. The first (and likely last) appearance of Elton John on one of my mixes, an artist I've never cared for but I love that one song.

I'm somewhat susceptible to the sappy but satisfying sensitive stuff, so I might sing along w/ all but one of these.
I'm puzzled though, why you left out Mr. Sensitive himself (Tim Buckley)?

one of my favorite types of music has always been melancholy-driven singer-songwriter stuff, so i'm really digging this. great elliott smith, elton john, neil young, bright eyes, harry nilsson & one of my all-time favorite closing tracks to an album with the dylan pick.

this is nice. i've always loved that s vega song - her first album will always be a strong memory for me (as it was the fave album of my then-girlfriend; draw your own conclusions...). nice to see epic here, too. and elton, of course - that was big of you.

This is really lovely - seems like quite a few people on here share your penchant for signer-songwriter stuff, myself included! Nice Ben Folds and Leonard Cohen choices, in particular.

This is a wonderful collection of singer/songwriter stuff. Hmmm... the title of this mix would also be a very apt description of an Elton John single artist compilation. An artist who, for a few years at least, created some brilliant pop.

I like a lot of this stuff, including the Elton John song (nothing wrong with Elton from '70-'75).
