Rockin And Rollin with The Mighty Led Zeppelin
Comment:
An mp3 file of the mix is available from the link on the first song title. This mix was helped along by Yngve, an 18 year old Norwegian guy who I met on last.fm. He is an avid listener to Led Zeppelin's music and he shared his top ten songs by them. I used seven of his ten on this mix (tracks 1-5 & 13-14). The three I didn't use were Battle of Evermore, Immigrant Song, & Stairway to Heaven (those last two had been used on previous mixes of mine). Other songs not used that I had used on prior mixes were Dancing Days, Whole Lot of Love, The Rain Song, and Moby Dick. Songs that didn't make the cut due to time restraints (I'll probably end up making a 2nd CD mix sometime in the future) were D'yer Mak'er, Fool in the Rain, Over the Hills and Far Away, That's The Way, Since I've Been Loving You, Ten Years Gone, No Quarter, Kashmir, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and Nobody's Fault But Mine.
Feedback:
Not a band I'm mad about but most of the tracks I like are accounted for here.
L.Z II is one of my all time fave cds.
Ah, Joe. The memories, the mamories. The summer of 70 I worked at a sleepaway camp. Only a dozen men and about 150 women. A true experience. But one of the morons that worked with me played LZ II the entire 8 weeks, while another played Tommy. Thank God I was stoned most of the time or I might have killed one of them. A tip of the hat for this trip down memory lane.
