Comment:
blasikin (left), tornadoZ (centre) and sammyg123 (right) are the notorious Gangsters Of Love. They travel the world constantly. Wherever they go, women fall at their feet. Their long suffering wives back home know this only too well, but consider themselves lucky they are the ones they come home to (once in a while). Along the way they pick up some pretty decent tunes also. Here's 24 of the very best, covering everywhere from Whangarei to Walthamstow.Sammy kicked this off, Alex followed, Michael chipped in number 3, back to me, and so on & so forth. Available for download either as a mix or seperate tracks as always. Take a plunge into this box of delights, you may find something you love...
Pt1 Pt2

Feedback:
This looks like great fun and great listening.
Oh my! Ive seen some scary gangsters in my time but you three amigos take the cake! I know 3 songs here and one of those is East 17! What does that say about me huh? Downloading now, confident that aural treasures are mere minutes away...
A rugged, manly crew indeed.
great cover, though like baryaldi i know little here.

Good to see El Famoso Blasikin peek his head out of retirement!
Are you 3 sure the ladies are just home waiting?

Nice one ladykillers! Any mix that begins with Margo Guryan has to be good (good call Sammy!). Also like that Fox track a whole lot too. Not familiar with much else .. but wait! I can download it! Can't wait for the jumpsuit and boots look to make a comeback.
A rollicking blast, fellow Gangsters of Love. Track 24 should be Mahalia Jackson's, I believe.
Nothing ! That's what I know !
My friend Jeff Lewis the anti-folk singer did a little internet investigating of the band Gangsters of Love while he was visiting this weekend- Alex, do you have their album? We are both curious about their
(our?) cover of Sympathy for the Devil? And is their album really titled "Gansters of Love" (sic)? http://www.answers.com/topic/gansters-of-love

Dig that Soul Makossa!
Good golly miss molly is the only phrase I can come up with at the moment, and that's only because it's playing on the radio. Maybe I'll have something better to say after listening. Until then, PEACE OUT GANGSTAS
Much as I am thoroughly enjoying this fab collaboration, from three masters of the art of mixing and casual seduction; it's the companion volume by "The Long-suffering Wives" that has piqued my curiosity. I will endeavour to hunt down a copy. Expense sheet to follow...
Margo Guryan? Shirley Ellis and Brenton Wood?? Count me in as a fan of your travels!

Triple the flavah. Triple the fun!!! Tons new to me, here.
Lots of great picks from you guys.
a blast indeed, fellows. have to do it again, maybe get Louie or one of the other Gangsters involved. blasikin, I'm not surprised you can't recall our Sympathy For the Devil sessions. we recorded just before you went to Betty Ford and you were pretty messed up. here it is anyway; turned out pretty damn great if you ask me.
This sounds really great guys, im on my second listen now and Blasikin - You're buddies with Jeff Lewis? The Last Time I Did Acid I Went Insane Jeffrey Lewis? That is beyond cool my friend, give him my best.
Thank you for that reminder and link, TornadoZ. It has been a long time, my friend. I am hoping your recurring endless-spiral-staircase-of-raw-meat flashbacks have been subsiding.

Barry, Jeff and I were roomates at SUNY Purchase in New York. Alumni also include Adam Green, Kimya Dawson, Regina Spector and most of Dufus. I'll try to assemble a SUNY Purchase alumni anti-folk compilation ala your recently acclaimed FENCE mix that I'm dying to hear.
Oh, swoon
Oh, swoon
Might as well make it three times for the three mixstoleros - SWOON
Breathtaking
Some call me the space cowboy!
This looks like some hot wonderful tunes. Damn my inability to get online in time to download it!
Well done guys - this is great, great stuff. But I have to express similar frustration to Jenergy in not getting to the links on time! Argh. Still, I know a good mix when I see it although there are a few things on here I'm not familiar with. Like the cover too!
