This one's going out to the Crocodile Hunter. Rest in Peace and thanks for your legacy, and for the gift of life you have given to so many animals.Feedback:
You really are a cretin! I'm sorry to tell you this but you are an appalling songwrriter and a delusional human being. This comes as no surprise to me Bruce as I have looked into your "stardom" with much hilarity until now. Your anti Neil Young propoganda was amusing but seriously even a fucking idiot let alone an esteemed "doctor" can see that this is a pathetic cash in on a true tragedy. Please just go away, you make me sick. This is a site for enthusiasts of mix cds/tapes, perhaps you took a wrong turn somewhere out there in pricksville!
I'm annoyed at the elitism forming on this site - it's unhealthy - there should be no condemnation of artists' creative output. Everything adds to the mix - and come on, the guy's not spamming!
I appreciate your supportive comments Luke. As for Barry's comments, he seems to hate me over politics. He doesn't seem to like moderates and wants every artist to think exactly the same on political issues. I've received lots of hate mail over Neil Young (Have you Forgotten) because most people who hate me for it, don't understand the song, why I wrote it, and don't understand how big a fan I am of Neil's. If you check Phantom Tollbooth (www.tollbooth.org), you'll discover several great reviews I gave Neil for prior CDs. You'll also find a song of sympathy I wrote for Neil Young when his father passed away. If you are the type of songwriter who is not afraid to put yourself on the line, your going to get hate mail. Not everyone is going to like me. It's like the song, Garden Party by Ricky Nelson: "You can't please everyone, so you have to please yourself." Thanks again, Luke, for your supportive comments. I appreciate them very much.
I want to add to the comment below that I do not hold the criticism that you have of me against me, Barry. You resort to insults instead of offering constructive criticism, which I have always welcomed. That is your choice. You act like my enemy, and it is tempting to respond to negativity with negativity, but Jesus teaches those who follow him to love their enemies and do good towards those who try to harm us. You see, a person who regards a songwriter with disdain could look at the same phenomenon quite differently from somebody with a positive attitude who wants to give others the benefit of the doubt. A positive person could say, "Hey, I may not like all of his songs, but this guy is very generous with his music. He gives nearly all of it away." That person would receive the songs with gratitude and regard my actions as "sharing," instead of the pejorative, judgmental term, "spamming." A person who is not grateful of another person's talents or a person who is negative and cynical will look at the same behavior, and condemn the person for sharing their music and label it "spamming." It is a matter of seeing the glass as half empty or half full.
I do have to say I agree with Luke here, but Bruce, "responding to negativity with negativity" is exactly what you're doing, too, it looks like. Invoking the name of Jesus doesn't, as far as I know, make it all right to drag us through the grueling details, especially to us non-Christians such as myself. I'd say Barrydali already knows exactly what he's doing, as much as I disagree with the tone he's choosing to go about it in. By the way, have you listened to Robert Wyatt's "Shrinkrap" by any chance? It's hilarious....
agangaku, I wasn't invoking the name of Jesus as an attempt to display how righteous I am. On the contrary, I know I could never be as loving in my response to hateful people as Jesus was. It's a struggle and a process. Sometimes it takes time to rise above the negative energy. I'm not trying to push my faith onto anybody either. I greatly respect the views and beliefs of others who do not share my faith, and I appreciate your comments. I haven't heard Robert Wyatt's "Shrinkrap" but I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
