Comment:
I've long been a fan of 1960's girlie pop. You'll find at least one track from the genre on most of my mixes. This is the first time, however, I've attempted to put all my favorites onto one disc The result, I reckon, is pure pop heaven! Suggestions or emails for inclusions on a possible sequel will be more than welcome! Cover Girl is the lovely Lesley GoreMIX

Feedback:
Lesley Gore, Dusty Springfield, The Ronettes. I'm wishin' and hopin' for some more of this.
This is spifforiffic! Great Irma, Ronettes, Shirley Ellis, Crystals and Dusty picks.
Mr Pettruccelli might have summed it up. Spifforiffic! I like that, and I like this mix and this type of music a lot. Cheers for the download Sam.
amazing stuff of course
This is tremendous. And Mark stole my adjective. ;-)
what a mad affair this looks to be! *download complete.* thanks, Sam - can't wait.
this is really brilliant
i've always been a fan of the genre myself - that ronettes song will always be one of my very favorite songs. hard to go wrong with dusty springfield & the shangri-la's as well. looks great.
Beautiful.
ooooh, goldie & the gingerbreads: skinny minnie meets skinny vinnie. I can't break away!
Eagerly downloading & will be listening SOON - thanks a million.
OO chang a lang with a bang!!!

OO chang a lang with a bang!!!
Wow, amazing effort. I knew there were some quality girl-pop bands in the past, but not this many! Cheers.
A most enjoyable "Side-saddle" ride. Too many standouts to mention; but I can't even see Lesley Gore's name without immediately thinking of her as the leader of Catwoman's "Pussycats" in the wonderful Batman TV series of the sixties. I'd better have a lie down -- now look what you've done!
Wow, I love this stuff. It's girl heaven.Since you are the guy who has looked at originals, revivials, etc, is there a story about the Beryl Marsden track? I only know the Supremems version.
*Supremes
Awesome! And that's even before I heard it. Loving the Dana Gillespie (do you have the album that song comes from?), Orchids and pretty much everything else. I'll guess Chris Clark for the beauty on the cover, though I'm probably wrong. I know she's not one of the Orchids
I knew Moe would go slobbery when he saw this! Bravo sammyg!
Mixxer
I'll look up Beryl Marsden. I love the Supremes, but I much prefer her version of When The Lovelight... She does a great version of Break-a-Way also.
Moe
Chris Clark was indeed beautiful altough she isn't the cover girl. An interesting fact about her.. Although R Dean Taylor was Motown's first White recording artist, Chris Clark was Motown's first white employee. She began her career as a secretary for them before being 'Discovered'. I do have Ms Gillespie's album 'Foolish Seasons', I'll send you a copy via Mr Postman. There's a wonderful version of Polnareff's 'No! No! No!' on there...

Nice collection. Some favorites here too.
Just finished listening to this while making dinner... amazing stuff. Lods I'm liking here.
One of my favorite sounds. I can recommend the Dream Babes series for more creamy goodness. Let's hear it for the girls!
I love it! (And I love the new Rhino box, too.)
Oh, too good. AND my favourite song ever! Congrats.
Mix Of The Week, eh. Congratulations to you, young SammyG.
Femmes fantastique!
congratulations, Sam. I've been left alone at work again, so just listened loud. favorites: 5,23,19,8,6,27. you already know I'm nuts about that Glenda Collins song. I'd say it's in my top 5 discoveries from this crazy musical website. my other most favorite here is "Golden Lights" by Twinkle.
This is great stuff right up my alley. Congratulations with MOTW! Suggestions for a second volume?
I'd pick Dream Baby by Cherilyn (aka Cher), Love Kitten by Noreen Corcoran, Wonder Boy by Lesley Gore and There Could Never Be another Boy like Mine by the Raindrops.

Another all good - feel good mix by sammyg123!!!
Congrat's sammyg! (He's right: "Femmes fantastique!")
Nice! Congrats, I think you've deserved it for other mixes, but this one is da thing!
Hurrah - I'm back on the internet, back on AOTM and headed straight to this gem of a mix. Listened this afternoon whilst pottering about and my flatmate made a cake. Both cake and mix are gorgeous. The Shirley Ellis track is my favourite, I think (anybody else master the game?)
God this looks awesome, Sam. Am downloading it as we speak (read: type) and can't wait to hear it as it looks very much up my street! Love Goldie and the Gingerbreads and of course, the lovely Dusty Springfield pick (and the best version of that track imho!)
1-2-3, Look at Sammy G
3-4-5, He brings AotM alive
Sammy G, Sammy G, Ooh Sammy G!
Absolutely gorgeous Sammy, and many congratulations on the well-deserved honor.

Just listened to your mix and I want to congradulate you on a well deserved MOTW! I particularly liked hearing tracks 3-5, 12, 15 & 21.
Well-deserved MOTW! GREAT stuff.
This is much much better than the couple of girl group comps I've purchased. Faves are 1, 2, 11, 23, and 15, though I still prefer the Exciter's version . . . Well done!
Been listening to this one and it is super stuff. I love this particular 60s vibe. Especially enjoyed the alternate takes on songs I know in other versions: "When the Love Light ..." by not the Supremes, "B.A.B.Y." by not Carla Thomas, and "Tell Him" by not the Exciters.
Listening to this mix was so much fun and I can tell I'll be listening to it for a long time to come. There were songs I enjoyed that I had never heard before mixed in with classic favorites I had almost forgotten. For instance, "Then He Kissed Me", by The Crystals, always brings to mind the opening scene of the classic 80's movie, "Adventures in Babysitting". I had always liked the song, but never known who it was by, so thanks!
You can now listen to this mix at GIRLSPIN RADIO!
