Echo & the Bunnymen's "Paint It Black" is probably the best Stones cover I ever heard.

here's more real good ones you should find if yr into rolling stones covers - "i'd much rather be w/ the boys" by nikki sudden, "satisfaction" by sandie shaw, "the spider & the fly" by von ruden (pebbles vol. 11), "satisfaction" by blue cheer, "play with fire" by dead moon, "satisfaccion" by some south american band (it's on this album called "psych out south of the border")

Very nice. some others you may want to add to your collection: Steve Earle's "Dead Flowers" is flipping awesome; Ryan Adam's "Brown Sugar" is gutwrenching; Steve Earle also does a nice "Before They Make Me Run"; Tom Jones' "Gimme Shelter" is lounge fab'lous; check out Otis Redding's "Satisfaction"; and U2's "Paint It Black" simply rocks the house down. I'm missing a few, but there goes. By the way, love the title, almost used that for my [unfinished] Stones covers compilation. Now I'm considering "Under Covers of the Night."
