Comment:
You can make bubble and squeak out of practically anything, but the question is: is it still bubble and squeak if made from scratch, and not from the leftovers of Sunday roast? Either way, we agree that it should include at least potato, carrot and cabbage, served ideally with plenty of salt and pepper and brown sauce.Feedback:
This looks profoundly great, as always. Your mixes have a very unique vibe, my friend, and it's always good to see a new one.
Awesome. Nice to see another mix from you.
Interesting ground covered here. I Particularly like the final transitioms om each side.
Pretty damn special. Great picks all over the place.
I see the potato and the carrot, but no sign of cabbage. Some belting stuff on here though. Now if I could just squeeze it onto a CD... Oh wait... I can. Ha!
Camera Obscura? Pipettes? Be My Baby?? Popalicious! Love the Seeds, Leyton, Research tracks, along with pretty much everything here..
great, alot of this is just what I listen to right now
Lots of good stuff on this.
Yeah, lots of interesting picks throughout.
I agree with P here, excellent mix!
Lovin' it but don't get The Pipettes? saw them this Summer & they have to be one of the most atrocious live acts I've ever seen!
squeaky giddy & bright - looks delicious!
luv the mix or look of it...luv the pipettes though I'm sure French is right re: their qualities as a live act..I absolutely detest bubble & squeak ;)
Quite a lot to like here bear and some which are unknowns to me...
I've always thought that bacon was in there too - otherwise I think you're right, whatever was used at the weekend is bound to end up in there somewhere. I should point out that I've always hated bubble & squeak (don't know why - maybe it's the frying-cabbage part) but I DO love the look of this mix! Absolutely love that Camera Obscura pick, and the BSP, Electrelane (Electrelane!) and monsieur Jarre. Serve this up with brown sauce, salt and pepper and I'll be quite happy :)
Looks like fun. Is that Tilly and the Wall tapping away?
This looks excellent. And as a coda, may I recommend 'I'm A Savage for Bacon and Cabbage' by Brendan Shine, seven minutes of a man who really loves his bubble and squeak.
Really nice mix, like Side Two especially.
