Comment:

My second Double-Disc Monolith (TM), celebrating my temporary return to solo mixed-genre mixing after a couple of months of alt-DJ collaborations and single-artist efforts. Although this isn't quite as eclectic as my last offering of this sort, I still think it covers lots and lots of ground and flows well. Again, this is a veritable AotM thankfest. Thanks to the following folks for either hipping me to the following songs and/or supplying me with copies of each: Vinz Clortho for "Sax and Violins"; lo-fi jr for "One Foot"; pf for "Repatriation"; SwankQueen for "Bullet Proof Nothing" and "Slung"; Pop Kulcher for "Homosapien"; and Mark Petruccelli for "Smoke 'Em." Non-AotM thanks to my new pal Jill for mentioning the Anthrax track the other day and to my recent-yet-former officemate Marty for hipping me to the Roy Buchanan track. Title from the pen of Green Gartside ca. 1978.

Youve dug pretty deep here Roberto, The only run I can string together knowledge wise is FLC to the finish line and I like it a lot, Has anyone done a Wainwright disc yet? Ive got one here With Kate and Anne included but I figured it would be covered already. Have you seen such a mix Rob? Let me know. Nice work mon ami

I never thought I'd see Anthrax, Chicago, Fela Kuti and Scritti Politti on one disc - and yet here it is! This looks like fun - maybe up for a trade ?

To my mind, your stuff always covers a lot of ground, Mr. C! This looks like quite a smorgasbord of musical delights, and I especially like the first disc with the Comets On Fire, Talking Heads and Scritti Politti (awesome track). Great stuff.

Excellent mix Rob. I agree with Siobhan over the Scritti track. One of my all time faves. Lots of other gems here, not least Coasters, Shack, Rufus & Horace Andy..

Eclectic indeed. I can scratch my chin stubble thoughtfully and feign recognition of all of this, but you'd see right through that. But what I know I like.

Lots of killer stuff on here, great Heads, Mahavishnu, Stones, Coasters and, of course, FLC tracks. The Surfers to Motorhead run is amazing, as is the Zappa track, "Take a ride to ... Beverly Hills, just before dawn, and knock the little Jockeys off the rich peoples lawns."

Lots of cool picks here throughout. Particularly like the Jeff Beck opener and the Roy Buchanan closer.

Holy Jeebus, Conroy! This looks absolutely amazing, my friend. That Mahavishnu->Brotzmann stretch, along with the killer Anthrax pick, along with pretty much all of the second disc fucking slays all, man!!

I guess you know that I like most of all dark/depressed mixes. But still I can easily say, that this is one of the nicest mix, ever seen here. Good job (again) Mr. Conroy.

Oh this is just lovely, and quite eclectic enough for my (rather eclectic) tastes. I mean, Wainwright --> Zappa --> Shins. That's great.

Love the variety here. A most enjoyable listen, I am sure. By the way, my copy of the Anthrax tune is on 12" record.

Scritti Politti >> Anthrax! Loretta Lynn >> Mot÷rhead! I love it. but wait. is this the same Rob Conroy who recently ribbed me for throwing Night Ranger into a mix? ;) it seems that you, too, can still rock in America (or Europe or where-ever). nice work.
