1970-1975 Made in US, Hit in UK
Comment:
The above songs were hits in the UK but not as much (or not at all) in the US. In the early to mid '70s they had a fondness for David Cassidy, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye especially. The song title is followed by the UK chart # and, if any, the US chart # (and year if different). I'm making available an mp3 of the mix, just under 100 megs in size, via a Belgian site. Apparently they accept files much bigger than that and will hold the files as long as there is no laps of seven days or more between downloads.
Feedback:
The opener is a great favourite of mine. I'll reveal another secret to you, but please keep it between us; I'm a closet David Cassidy fan. There you have it, I know I can trust you.I realise that you are "chronicling" the hits here, but that Little Jimmy Osmond song is an aberration, I am unable to find any merit in it whatsoever. It ranks alongside Daz Sampson's Euro shite as a prime example of the nadir of popular music. Well, with that off my chest, I'll just say that the rest of the mix is most entertaining. Cheers.
Retro, another rock school classic. Well done, good sir. Now, were they hits in the U.K because of the U.K.'s brilliance?
I'm with Nomates on the Long-haired Liverpool lover lovin' Little Jimmy Osmond. Otherwise, I diggin' your 5-star chronicle. By the way,Jimmy sez, "one click to rule them all!"

this is great. I love David Cassidy music and that Melanie song too.
