Comment:

ok, guess I might as well post a one-year anniversary mix too. here it is! actually, I started posting new mixes in early October of last year after spending the previous few weeks as one of those annoying people who discover the site and then feverishly post their entire backlog of mixes three at a time for days on end. sorry. it's been a fun year with AotM; I've met some good people and discovered lots of great music. looking forward to year #2. this mix was going to include only newer music I've been enjoying, but I'm afraid a few older tunes have found their way in.
listen to side one. listen to side two.

Wow. What alma cogan said... Great stuff, my friend, both in general and with this mix, in particular. I love that Yoko pick.

Happy anniversary. I cannot contain my excitement at the prospect of another year of TornadoZ mixes -- of which, this is a prime example. If you think I'm joking -- think again...Thanks for the link.

I can't tell you how many weird and wonderful things you've either introduced me to, or made me like in '06. The Tom Tom Club is high on the "made me like" list.

Oh tornadoZ, we all know this website would be downright lousy without you. One year ago today, on a misty October morning in your corner office -- starbucks in hand and the space needle as a backdrop -- you made the fateful click that would forever change our musical lives. From your debut, Eduard the II of Peru, through The Lessons of Leprosy, and the ever-popular El Gallito mexican restaurant calender series, we've been with you every step of the way. Even during the tough times when Poland was forgotten, a duck was dying, and Steven was (potentially) a dick. It's been a wild journey. Happy anniversary!

Listened to the whole thing last night while jogging, and it was a fantastic listen. I especially liked the second side... the opening four really soundd great after one another.

Gave this a belated listen this morning. The opening for side one is simply majestic, love that Vitas track! Richard Swift is great too, and "Ulele" rocks! Ah, the whole thing is great. Side two is cool too, knew Asobi, Beirut and Nobody & The Mystics well already, nice picks all around.
