Comment:
The mutant spawn of Ms. Karen Adams and myself--LIVE AND UNCUT (to use phrasing more associated with her)!!! This was a lot of fun to put together and I was super-happy with her picks (if I hadn't picked a Mountain Goats song, I'd challenge anyone to figure out who did the odds and who did the evens on this one, but as it stands, I did and that makes it kinda obvious). The former title of this mix is from the pen of Mr. Albini; the current title is from the Roger Miller track (as Orchid correctly pointed out). Enjoy!Feedback:
I woulda guessed it straight away Rob (no sh*t) with or without Darnielle. Turned out pretty darn well, i'd say.
eclectic as hell, esp love that Bryan Ferry pick
wow! really really liking this, esp. loving the zeppelin, love, kinks, & mountain goats tracks. another excellent mix from the both of you.
Cheers for the new dynamic duo!
wonderful. i love the blockheads song. where does this live version come from?
The BBC appear obsessed with Iran at the moment. As I'm unable to stop listening to Radio 4, 5, 6 & 7 -- though not necessarily in that order -- this has become quite obvious and tiresome. So Yipee-ky-ay! for this mix; a timely reminder that there is still much fun to be had. Though any listener to "Woman's Hour" would be oblivious to this fact -- don't get me started.Yep, this looks most agreeable. Bung us a download link and close the circle.
Super fun pairing, 1,4,6-10 and 16-18 rock my workd.
Great teamwork here! LOVE the Love through Zeppelin stretch especially.
Delta Dawn, eh? Very interesting....
I didn't realize Mr. Albini wrote King of the Road, or is that a typo? Well, regardless it's one of my favorite songs. Love the Tanya Tucker & Sonic Youth picks as well. Nice one.
No shit, literally. Now show us your tits.
wonderful results, you two. where's the DJ Karen artwork? great Tanya Tucker and Bryan Ferry picks.
I reckon the Big Black & Butthole surfers choices would have probably given it away anyhow.. Great choices from you both. A pleasing collaberation! Excellent 16-20 finale.
Super-happy with your choices too, Mister Conroy. Great assemble job!
You kids have produced one cute mutant spawn. Not sure if it looks more like its papa or its momma. I bet the little guy sounds great though. Talk about your sonic youth

The tune will come to you at last"
Translation: Turn your fookin' speakers on and up for a 5-song six minute sampler!

Fevver cluckers!I might have guessed, from track 20 alone . . . didn't Karen use that on another mix recently? Great song though . . . and great mix . . .
. . . and Ian live is a joy to hear . . .
gobi:Au contraire, mon frere. Tracks 06 and 20 are both even and so selected by Mister Conroy.
You are correct in that Brazilian Girls tune was featured in the porn-O-ramic Musicgnome + DJ Karen Adams = Guide Book To Scandalous Behavio(u)r Pts.1 & 2mahdishain:Great live Blockheads, indeed. This could be from Stiff's Live or from an extensive unauthorised concert recording library but I am not 100%. You might want to ask sistergothique which is where that mp3 came from. Chuuch!

Wow, two great tastes that I wouldn't have imagined together, but taht are just lovely so.
Binneas. This includes one of my favourite Bryan Ferry records. Sonic Youth is good too. Keep on spawning...
Lots of great picks here throughout...
