Comment:
Alternative Title : 'A Fall Daydream' for my Stateside friends. Enough about Mr E Smith though, here's a mix.A mix to celebrate the arrival of my 3rd favourite season, which in essence, is a Folk mix. Although purists may sniff at the inclusion of, say, The Shins, that's what I've labelled it as..
I've enjoyed both compiling this, and listening back afterwards. I think it may be my best to date :) Download, if only for track one, which is quite frankly astonishing. I hope someone else agrees..
Pt1 Pt2

Feedback:
Oh you are speaking my language here Sam! I know 80% of this and it looks marvellous. Psapp into Akron/Family looks like a masterstroke. Downloading now!
Great cover very fallish. Lots of favorites on here I like: #5, #13, #17, #18, #19 and #21.
Very nice, good sir. Agreed with Barry on the Psapp->Akron/Family. Been digging that A/F track a lot lately.
Folking good. People sure seem to like the new Akron/Family and Bert Jansch releases.
Tremendous Sam, The opener is a treasure and I cant speak highly enough about the Hardin to the finish line stretch. Beautiful.
Parsley is indeed a gem . . . listening now . . . I must be a folkie 'cos I know and love a surprising amount of this . . . having said that, I'm not a huge fan of Judee's kiss, however (I guess it was over-hyped way back when) . . . very nice
Am listening to it right now, excelent mix,Very well done!
I have to resist downloading this right now because I'm supposed to work the whole evening, but this looks very, very cool.
Fantastic job there!
This, yes THIS! is not merely marvellous! Oh no, we're going to need an extra superlative version of "marvellous" in order to encapsulate just how jaw-shatteringly flippin' marvellous! this mix is. Were it not that MOTW is already allocated (to a worthy mix, I hasten to add) and, in fact, lasts only for a week -- this would have to be the best MOTW this year. So that makes it Mix Of The Year then. Well, it's only October and who knows what the AOTM future holds...I do tend to "go off on one" at times, I know; this mix has pushed that particular button for me.I thought nothing would be able to compete with Barrydali's The Solemn Eye, or Orchid's Goodbye Castaways!. This mix could be the one - it really could. I'll have to organize a "listen-off" between them. I could simply proclaim the all winners. Yes, I will do that, or will I. Oh, I dunno. I do know that this mix is beyond MARVELLOUS! I'll leave it at that for now - you wish.
I've now listened to this . . . . very, very good! and I even take back my comment about Judee, it fits perfectly . . .
womderful stuff
Your in your prime Sam.
Gorgeous--one of your best, I think. I'll be downloading this one, as well...
can't hardly wait. I'll be downloading this tomorrow morning when I'm supposed to be busy working.
Beautiful. For the trees indeed.
Listening a I type(a first fer me) Merci beaucoup this is beautiful & echo Barry re Hardin - Sill, can't wait!
Sammy , thank you so much. Aural bliss indeed. What a standard to ·atch tho eh?
Oops (vin rouge mistakes) meant to write match!
this is tight!
this is absolutely gorgeous! loving the neil young, nick drake & shins tracks especially (purist schurist, i think it's a fitting song)
Sam, firstly I think your covers are very well done.
Secondly, I may not be the ultimate afficionado when it comes to folk but after giving it a listen I must say that this is extremely well done!
Despite being the uncouth youth that I am, I do know a few of the tracks here - Nick Drake, Neil Young, The Shins and Willy Mason are tracks I have encountered.
The best part is the exposure to material I haven't heard before. So for that, I thank you.

Hey, I ain't sniffing at the Shins, but who are those other 21 guys, ha, ha. Having Porter Wagoner here is a kick for sure. Great work for the season.
Excellent use of Neil Young, Nick Drake and Judy Collins
Getting this right now revved up for a spin. .. Great use of fan brush on the cover, good sir!
I've not gone wrong by following your guidance, Sammy, so download I go!
Wow this is gorgeous. The Mountain Goats to Judy stretch is stunning.
Lovely. The Beth Gibbons / Rustin Man album is the essence of autumn.
This really is great, Sammy, thew 13 -19 stretch is just gorgeous.
A surprising, at times really beautiful mix. I really enjoyed listening to it. Definitely a keeper.
Yes, very nice indeed. A wonderful collection.
This is quite perfect, really. Very very nice job.
truly lovely. it's great to see so much acclaim here. the ones I like most are Twin Atlas, Mark Lanegan, Judee Sill... but my favorite may be that Porter Wagoner tune. an Autumn Daydream indeed.
"I think it may be my best to date"
That Is All It Takes For Me. Great to look forward to and thanks for letting me. Also, kudos to you for the steal of that track on my latest.

This mix has a wonderful flow with excllent segues. Sufjan Stevens, Mountain Goats and Neil Young seem to be major players here at the Autumn Daydream Collection.
Didn't want to comment until I had heard it, so here I am! This is a dazzling mix, sammy. Seriously wonderful stuff. There's too many good picks to name... love the flow and the consistently pastoral mood.
Congrats mate! Well said Chris.
Congrats Sammy, the Gnome beat me to the punch, this was definitely my choice for MOTW.
Congratulations. MOTW was very much deserved on your part.
This is ideal.
Sorry to comment again, but I wanted to mention that the first track is amazing. That's all.
Half-star deduction only because the opener drove me NUTS. Having only heard of three or four artists in the mix, I didn't know exactly what to expect but this has a very Autumn-ly feel to it. I liked it a lot!
Congratulations sammyg!!!!
Way to go Sammy! If this hadn't been MOTW, I'd have sent back me OBE -- if I'd had one. Oh well, you see what I'm driving at...I'll stop now -- I'm lost in bad metaphor land. This mix is the absolute Bollix! -- as they are wont to say in Dublin, and who am I to argue. Well done again, Sam -- HAVE IT!
Oh tits Sam, can you live with that half star deduction?, I'm here if you wanna talk... ahem...
Truly worthy of all the praise - I'm glad I caught this in time!!
Looks lovely - wish I could access the tracks, but sadly I am experiencing technical difficulties...
I am sure this is the first time I have written the 49th comment on anything, but this is a fantastic mix. Hooray for you, Sammy.
Shee-it, you mean I get to make comment number 50? An honor, my good man. I do love this mix.
Four and half stars, my arse! It's a five star mix and you ruddy well know it!
Congrats on a most trulty deserved MOTW. The opener is fucking blinding to these ears even if it could so easily have made it on to my 'Turn That Shit Off Now!' mix.

Ta for the lovely mp3s.
lovely thru and thru
Love the Twin Atlas. Glad they made it on the MOTW.
Very deserving of motw!
Whoa, see the love. And much deserved. I join the chorus: sweeeet.
Congrats on MOTW, Sam. Porter is off the hook.
Beautiful and absolutely perfect for the time of year - and many congrats on a very well-deserved MOTW! I absolutely love that closing five, especially Mr. Hawley who I can't get enough of at the minute. The Shins and M. Ward tracks are great choices too.
Happy Halloween!
Aw shucks... I missed this. Great folk/fall mix... this is precisely what I listen to dutring this time of the year. Great job at encapsulating it all so nicely!
Just had to chip back in and let you know that my sister, Julia, loves this mix. If you continue stealing my "fans" like this, Sammy, we're going to have to "talk" -- and you don't want that!
So I somehow ended up with an unsolicited copy of this mix a few days ago (poor me, I know!) and feel the need to retract my earlier statement, wherein I said this was a "fantastic job" - that just wasn't strong enough praise. I have yet to find the adjective that would really do this mix justice, but I'll consult my various dictionaries and let you know if I find something that fits! Meanwhile, um, fantastic job?
Spectacularly good.
And then some.
And then some.
I'm not a fan of Sufjan, but everything else is amazing. I don't mind the Shins inclusion!
The Shins are folk, no?
